Translation of the Word of God

The Word of the Living God is the most important resource that we have to know God, to communicate His love, and to do His work.  It is the guide book for His Church and the tool of the His Spirit.  God's Word is from eternity settled in heaven. It has been in time and through His servants the prophets revealed in written form.  This revelation was recorded in Hebrew in the Old Testament and in Greek in the New Testament.  The Lord's Church has been responsible for the keeping and spreading of His Word down through the centuries. Men all along the way have dedicated their life to copying the Word of God so that the next generation might have access to it. In our day, the printing of the Word of God has mostly fallen into the hands of commercial organizations, that is why so much confusion has come about regarding Bible translations.  The translation and propagation of the Word of God is not a work to be taken lightly and therefore requires discipline of study.  This study is the key element to the success of the Boa Vista Project.  We are proposing to sharpen the skills necessary to learn the languages, communicate with the inaccessible people in a way thay can understand, and translate the Scriptures into their language, facilitating the preaching of the Gospel and the establishing of churches.  Pray for us that we would be faithful to this mission!
